Good mechanic in North/East london

Hi All,

Looking for a reliable and honest mechanic/garage for a service. I've just bought a 1982 2 litre Air cooled Autohomes pop-top and basically looking for oil change, points clean up etc to put my mind to rest before I start driving all over the country!

I'm in London on the border of Islington/Hackney so North ans East london good for me.

I've heard about Chris Cross motors in Palmers Green but not sure what they are like. I used to live near beetlemania in Muswell Hill but they dont seem to have much going on these days.

I can recommend Steve @ South London VW's. They are very reliable and trustworthy, and will give an honest price.

It may be a bit of a drive but well worth it

Hi there, I'm in sokey and was wondering if this is all u need why not diy and even better get electronic ignition fitted for about £60 as you will never have to wory about points thereafter- if you've not done it before even just getting to know the engine a bit really helps if anything goes wrong and there is no help about.. Not really the answer you wanted but I would say South London VW is good, Elite build new engines out of old ones and best of all but a bit far would be Luke at Terry's Beetles over west London way.
