Stickers

Post by drumnut182 »

Heyup again, anyone know where i can get the stickers and stripes for a vw 1600td Vanagon California. They are yellow and blue.
Not the metal names or badges just the stick on ones. And getting old ones off is hairdryer then clean up with petrol job i believe isnt it? Anyone replaced them at all? Any tips on getting them straight or is it all quite and easy job?

Cheers

Use one of them DIY heat guns, the kind you use for paint stripping, but be carefull. As for putting the stripes back on there is a gel you can buy from sticker companies, not sure what it's called but it lets you move the stripes about untill they're in the correct possition

A soapy water solution sprayed on before sticking allows you to position the stickers, before squeegying out the water.
Keep it real.

To remove use a heat gun (not too close though) and clean the glue off with tar remover rather than petrol.

A soapy water mix and a credit card will allow you to smooth out the bubbles with ease :)

Great, thats pretty much the info i was after.. Tar remover sounds better.
£90 seems a bit steep for the new stickers tho!

Thank you for the replies.
