When I last slid my side door open, the roller came off the sliding rail as it was badly corroded. The mechanism sort of popped out and forced the covering panel out. I can't get it to go back on the slider because there isn't much of it left. Door is permanently closed now.
Any suggestions? Will I have to have the whole slider rail replaced with a new panel or what? Where can I get it done in London or nearby? Any ideas about how much it will cost?
Sliding door ..rusted away.

If you can weld that is how i sorted out nearly the same problem. It can be time consuming but take the slider off the rail.Drill out all the spot welding on what is left of the rail. That should then enable it to detach it off the body.I did this then make good repairs on the rail as to weld in metal.Check out the body work below the window if its not rusty to close to it its possible to graft in a peice of steel panel.Control of distortion is important when welding panels. I tacked it in selected areas weld it carefully in you will proberly have to use a angle grinder .When you are satisfied it resembles the panel shape.Drill out the holes in the rail to allow you to weld on to the panel. It took me 3 to 4 hours of work but its as good as new i only need to repaint it.
