Sliding window overhaul and tint

Post by Cruz »

the felt in the sliding window channels are shot, the channels are all full of crap, plus I want to tint the windows.

Is it possible to remove the glass from the frames or are they fixed units?

I have exactly the same problem, I'd love to know the answer too :D

Please let it be a simple (and easy) solution!
If its not broken, tinker with it, then when you break it phone your dad. Work's well for me!

Also has anyone successfully replace the felt inner of the sliding channel? And if so what did you use?

When mine was out i spotted 4 flat screw heads that i imagine keep the whole frame together.

They werent coming out easily - so i didnt bother...

Let us know how you get on....

Hi

I was looking to replace the felt type runners in my none VW side window and used a company at www.sealsdirect.co.uk who were very helpful and sent samples of what they thought I needed and a catalogue of the other stuff they sell

My window is a black alloy type and comes apart with 4 screws (2 each side) accessed when the frame is removed from the seal

Hope this helps

Mr B
Well, I really wasn't expecting that to be; bodged, broken, leaking, lost, missing, mangled, rusty, rotten, stripped, siezed - pass the Stella and it'll all be better
