Servicing a fridge RM212

Post by Cruz »

Can anyone enlighten me as to what I do to service our old Electrolux RM212

It's a leisuredrive conversion and the fridge is a model with an ice box.

I've never used it on gas in the 3 years we've had the van and I don't know when it was last lit.

What do I need to do cleaning wise? Or am I best getting it looked at properly seeing as it's so old? It's works fine on 240v and 12v when driving.

servicing info is in the instruction book, it's easy to do, main difficulty is getting fridge out of furniture. Manual is on downloads page I think

I have an RM212 in my van & it's a 2 way ie. gas/12volt, it's the RM 213 that's 3 way. I wish I had the RM 213 in my van. :)

That's funny Tony, because every website I've read up untill now has shown the following:-

RM212 = 2 WAY

RM213 = 3 WAY

ie. the last digit = 2 or 3 way.

Plus this applies to new Dometic RM212/RM213 fridges for sale from various internet outlets. :)

Reverend Jones, I will double check this when I have a moment to spare & I can find some specs. :)

Give us a link to one of these sites then, I'm really curious now 'cos the RM212 in our van is definitely 3 way and Smiffy's seems to be as well. :shock:

I've got the instructions for my fridge in front of me & it says on the front page ''Refrigerator Model RM212 (Bottled Gas and 12Volt Operation).

The plot thickens then! :lol: Have you got a different manual to the RM212 one that's in the downloads section on here?

I can't see RM212 listed on the web page that you linked to so I'm confused.com :cry: but the RM122 and 123 is there.

that could be because the instructions for mains use are
1) switch on
2) enjoy coldness inside
