Performance Exhaust for 2.1 Injection

Post by wixer »

Does anyone know of an exhaust system for the 2.1 litre waterboxer engine ? My standard exhaust is ready to fall off, so needs replacing, so rather than a standard replacement, I'd be interested in one that would give a bit better breathing.

I take there isn't one available then. In that case I see if I can get an exhaust from another model and modify it to fit.

hang on... what do you mean by "performance" exhaust?

are we in the realms of illegal or "for off road use only"?

see link .....turbothomas.com/

he made one for my old 2.1... full stainless with side facing merged header and box! more expenny than std but much better flow and better throttle response. the photos on his site are my old bus... mine was the first one so the quality and turnaround is up now too... but not sure of the price! :D

topgear.co.uk

Any of the topgear stores can custom build an exhaust for you. Noice levels, performance, tailpipes etc

My local one is making a stainless one for me, but as per my spec, making it as quiet as possible. :D

Hope thats of some use to you..

Thanks for the replies guys. I'll look into these places. There used to be a Topgear outlet near to me, I bought some wheels from them for my TVR Griff, a few years ago but not long after they under.

This powertorque exhaust, I seem to remember Simon saying worked on a different tuning principle than most and was known to give a noticeable improvement in torque

Speak to Steve at Eastfalia, he has a fantastic looking merged exhaust from germany that he was touting about, lovely piece of engineering with bhp gains too.

This is an American made exhaust for an MV or SS.

Looks nice though. Note the sandwich plate on the oilfilter for extra cooling and temp pressure monitoring.
