newbie, new van, confused

Post by Jarrod »

Hi all, I'm a newbie on here and would like to first of all say what a great web-site it is compared to others I,ve been on, and second I would like to ask your advice on what I've just bought!!! I've not got a clue what conversion it is?I,ve not seen a roof like it before, is it normal, ie will I be able to get a replacement skirt for it off the shelf or should I just look at a new roof?
Thanks in advance for any insight, suggestions etc.... these are a few pics of when I bought it about a month ago

dunno what make of roof have but tent/truck tarp makers or sail makers could make you a new fabric, as for pics if you list then in a line rather than accross the screne it makes viewing them much easier!!

I would hazard a guess that it came off a bay type originally.

Just a guess mind you :D

Hi thanks for the ideas, not sure if a bay roof would fit though cus they must be thinner even if the dome's the same???? anyway I've fitted my new stripes today based on the devon one's, as I don't know what it is I've made my own up. :)

I think the roof came from a company in sleaford linconshire called E R developments. In the late 90s i had a roof made from there mould and fitted by this company which had a row of lockups garages and a workshop located in this Lincs village. The roof certainly looks identical to it . To raise it up there is a light tubing frame at the front which provides storage for clothes + standing room only but no bed..The roof could be supplied as DIY or fitted at there workshops. The company brochure advirtised it as low line a roof that could get under the multi story car parks.

Thanks for your thoughts and its certainly possible I guess, it has to be something very similar anyway, some small set up somewhere, If they've gone to the trouble of making a mould then surely there should be others out there somewhere?
Not sure you can tell from the pics but it has self supporting struts and a double bed, not been brave enough to go up myself yet but its pulling me everytime I look up
