Hi,
1983 westy pop top converted from DF to 1.9DG but with Solex 34 pict5 carb.
having done some research on rarity and apparent complexity of 2e3 pierburg carb (maybe not if u are familiar and know them) has anyone fitted or modified the carb set up for impropved economy with decnt power range- thinking of LPG also and wondering if there is any sense in using one particular carb model for this purpose also. thanks.

DG came with a 2e3 and they aint that rare..
They work well when rebuilt and set up.. so dont discount it over the crappy 34PICT.... the 2e3 (and correct DG manifold) will get back the lost performance too..
The webber alternative isnt great as it needs tinkering with to make work..
a pair of ICT's on some type 3 manifolds work well..
But with any carb swap.. setting up is the important bit and a good session on a rolling road is worth it (with a good operator that knows carbs too)

thanks. Have been wondering about this as i know that spares etc for the 2e3 not so easy these days and is it worth it. As I'm running ok at presnt will kep the set up for now whilts looking into other parts. Laurie Petit suggested a possible single FRDA set up on modded solex manifold which I may have a look at but hoping that if poss i might find a decent and affordable set up on here.......had ICT's in the past and they are nice and simple but after a while the old linkage set up and fiddling with balancing gets to be a pain in the aris. thanks.
