Rev counter cables - where to connect them?

Post by brookie »

Have got hold of second hand rev counter for my 1.9td but am at a loss to know where a couple of the cables should be connected to get it going. There are 4 cables. 1 goes to 12v with ignition on, 1 goes to earth, but what about other 2? Looking at other rev counter questions on forum I see that someone suggests the W terminal only on alternator and someone suggests both W and the B+ terminal. Any help much appreciated! :?

I have been informed that engine speed can be taken from the coil (blue wire I think)
Having LPG fitted I can connect a revcounter this way, because of the computer that controls the gas

1.9td

Not quite awake there Kev :)

As far as I know it's the W terminal for the signal but one of the derv experts will be along soon, the other one might be to light it up?
