fitting a twin headlight grill

Post by brown-bus »

could anyone advise on how the inner 'spot' lights fit in a twin round headlight grill. I've bought an old T25 moulded grill (made by Taifun) which came without any lights. Alignment of the original head lights looks fine but place where the inner spot lights should go seems obstructed by part of the body work. Does this body need to be cut ........ I hope not!
thanks

I rivetted mine on to start with , but they kept on coming loose and moving , so i borrowed a rivnut gun and put two rivnuts in and then was able to bolt them in place , much better

as for body work ? never had to touch mine

You'll need to find a pair of spotlights that are shallow enough to fit between the grille and the offside bodywork obstruction. The nearside doesn't cause any problems as you know.
You can then self tap or rivet them in place directly to the grille.
There may be some information out there somewhere that will explain exactly how Taifun planned on fitting the light units to their grille and if you find it then let me know
