Engine number

Post by cornishpete »

Just looked at my registeration document and my engine number starts with the letters MV. Its a 2.1 petrol syncro imported from Australia. On a printed label by the fuel filler cap it states min 91 ron unleaded petrol which has always puzzled me as I thought 98 was the biz for these vans although I have always used the standard unleaded. (thankfully gassed now and running like a dream) anyone throw any light on the MV number please?

2.1 MV's are lower compression and power than the 2.1 DJ's so you can use the lower octane fuel.
