cooling system question....

i have a 83 panel van watercooled, and im wondering if the plastic pipes (from a newer model)that run from front to rear, to the radiator would fit on my age of vehicle... or has anyone used any method, ie, i think ive seen someone use a pipe from a builders merchant...

They will fit but you dont say what your watercooled is ( Peterol or Diesel).
Diesel pipes are longer,
The builders pipe you are on about is blue propelene mains water piping, but never tried this option but have been told will work with a little jiggery pockery,

You need to check your pipe diameter. Some of the early metal pipes have 32mm od which is smaller than the later plastic pipes which I think are 36mm od.
