clean bill of health

Post by jpee »

Continuation from have i killed my camper.

Remember i stuck 40 quids worth of diesel in petrol engine. I haven't :D .drained refilled (left more diesel than i cared to in)

No probs drove fog machine for a bit. However as a coincidence buzzer of doom started. Got her to my mechanic who found wire to oil pressure switch ( forgot to ask which one) was hanging on literally by a thread and was bare and shorting.

He repaired, started her up, fine, took her a run, fine, revved her up (i had an issue with that but he said it was platonic) left her idling most of day (thats my man) with the occasional tickle of her throttle (nearly punched him when he told me that)

Half way home she started playing up with her BUZZER again. Back to paul, as she now insists on calling him (mind you that is his name)

Took her in straight away (starting to get paranoid) Oil pressure test on both systems said both spot on, he took her to sparky (I'm thinking she's doing threesomes now)

Sparky said some circuit or other had gone under dash, and as pressures were A.ok, rewired to by pass buzzer, so i get a normal warning light same as a car. Oil problem, light comes on. They charged me 40 quid, I'd have given considerably more. does that make me a pimp or a john.

Seriously, grateful to Paul and his sparky mate for sorting problem out (so cheaply, real enthusiasts, also, just coz they thought hey lets try it, they tested compression as well, checked out fine on all cylinders).

I was starting to wish I'd never seen the sight of her, although i would have thrown as much as a rebuild or re-con as her body is to die for. Her interior......Well she is an auto sleeper xxx

To answer my own question have i killed my camper NO!

As an after thought. My tacho says 168 495. Have had oil pressure and compression tests done which were both bang on spec. I,m thinking either a FUC**g good engine or its a recon. What ever jpee is

:D
Never sure where I'm going till i get there.

Good to hear that you got sorted . . . sounds like you've got a couple of very useful allies there!
