Late - Early DG Cooling question

Post by mikey9 »

Have the chance of an early (1985?) DG engine - to replace my 1990 DG.

Can anyone confirm that there is no difference to the engine itself - besides the different water pump (obviously my late cooling system/thermostat etc. would stay on the van - just the engine itself would be swapped?)

If I am just confused and talking blx - please say so - have been laying flooring for two days straight and now need to fix the van...... :(

Tis in at Birrells (Carsegate Ind Est) today for dropping and heads off to see - hopefully just gaskets....? have the exhaust and clutch ordered from JK so they will go in whilst engine out.

Am just trying to be prepared for all eventualities :D

All the engines are capable of taking each other's cooling systems.
