I've just done it yesterday, easiest job I've done for ages!
There are two stages, inside the van and outside the van, I don't think it matters which way you do them I did inside first as it was raining.
Inside:
Unscrew gear knob, slide gaiter off shaft. Unscrew the collar but be careful as the spring makes it shoot up, remove this and the spring.
Undo the two 10mm nuts holding the ball joint part on and slide off the shaft.
Assemble the new kit of bits, use plenty of grease to lube the plastic parts. The only tricky bit is getting the large collar to lock the rubber bit into the casing. I fitted the collar with the rubber part protruding from the housing then pressed them together in the vice with a big socket on either side.
Slide the new assembly back over the gear lever and align the holes, refit the 10mm nuts. Put the new spring and collar on and tighten, There is an indent on the gear lever for the set screw to locate in.
Refit the boot and knob.
Outside:
Put the van on ramps or axle stands. Drop the spare wheel and remove.
You can see the metal shield around the bottom of the gear lever it's held on with 4 10mm nuts.
Undo these and remove the shield. Use a 10mm and 13m spanner to remove the connector bolt and the old bushes will probably fall out.
Grease and press the new top hat bushes in, align the lever and selector shaft and fit the new pin, do this up tight. Refit the shield, be careful as the plate that it bolts to can pop up into the van a wiggle of the lever from below will drop it in again though, put the spare back in and enjoy your new feeling gear selector.
I now need to look at the rear of the selector shaft, it's perfect in reverse, 3rd and 4th but still has some play in 1st and 2nd, probably from the UJ.
It is a really easy job, typing this probably took longer than doing it!!
