Ive just purchased a resto project 81 T25 diesel camper, but the engine is not only U/S but there is a few bits missing. What I want to know is, due to a tight budget, do I source a complete replacement diesel lump?, rebuild the existing trying to source missing head etc? or how difficult is it to convert the van from diesel to a petrol powered motor?? Any help would be appreiciated as this is my first VW T25 camper project.
It has a 1600td fitted but the cylinder head is missing, all other ancilleries are there, im not sure if its the original lump so i'll have to check engine numbers against the logbook when i recieve it back from the dvla
yes, just have the head itself missing, not sure what the status is of the bottom end as the person i purchased it from bought the vehicle as a none runner but never got round to completing it, he has not got the head either, and he too doesnt know much about previous history etc
