Bleeding clutch

Can anybody help me here in the vain attemp to get out of buying a new clutch for me van thought i would try to bleed it so under the van i goes opens up the nipple and nought comes out no air no fluid .I am using a pressure bleeder so the resevoir is full even baccked the nipple off so it was nearly out any ideas anyone

Lock the clutch operating lever so it can't move (e.g. take up freeplay and jam it). Make sure you open the beleed nipple enough...

Best is to bleed with a mate, who on demand (DOWN) pushes clutch down and holds after you have opened the nipple. Then you lock it off (gently bentley) before you say UP. The open up again and say DOWN. If no fluid coming out, slave or master is a bit knacked - is the clutch moving, if so, lock it off. Keep reservoir topped up every now and again. Should only need a few goes - when clean fluid coming out, A OK!

i had this, ran mine without a bleed nipple in the slave for 6 months, then one day it just let go, poped the nipple back in and topped up, crap worked its way out...........

Aha, good one Steve, far too much crap around eh? Best have that nipple with you when it 'goes pop' !

.. but trying locking off the op lever and see if that ejects it on a good downswing of that pedal with nipple fully open.

Took the bleed nipple out and fluid poured out so cleaned nipple and sorted the bleeding thing did bugger all to the clutch though

so looks like i am taking the box out tomorrow oh the pleasures of t25 ownership

Good luck with sorting it - but as yet we haven't been told the symptons - presume it's dragging or not releasing fully.

Sorry H the clutch isnt biting until right at the end of its travel and when you put your foot down it starts to slip

Does sound as though its just worn out. Do check the operating levers for burrs where they contact the release bearing and deburr them with a stone or file for smooth operation

Cheers H pulled the box out fitted new clutch old one was well worn but the metal pipe to the slave cylinder snapped due to age and its a dealer only part £27 plus the vat

so thats coming tuesday so should be up and running then

excuse my ignorance, but what is so special about the pipe that it cant be made put of copper and the ends flared on?......failing that someone like pitek would have made a flexible one with any end for less than that over the counter

I thought exactly the same about the copper pipe bit so i went to me local motorfactors to get them to make one up but its a different diameter to brake piping so that was a no go and didnt even think of pirtek oh well
