Chrome hub caps

Post by Snag20 »

In light of my new reluctance to fit plugged and re drilled Wolfrace slot mags to my van,

I am thinking about chrome hub caps as dont want plastic trims.

Will original beetle or T2 type fit ? are they OK on depth ?

cheers

Ive got late bay/T25 ones on mine, think you have to avoid anything early.

If you decide to buy chrome hub caps you will have to choose what quality you want. German hub caps from VW @ £20+ each or Brazilian quality from A.H.Shcofield (or others) @ £25 for a set of 4. :)

I was wondering whether to use smooth Hammerite on the wheels but satin black would be easier to apply. I've already got 4 x chrome hub caps from Schofields ready to go on. :)

Beetle caps will fit but early 1968 to 1972 are shallower and won't clear the speedo drive, 1972 on are the same as bays and T25
