Subaru fuel pump not coming on

Post by ally »

So turns outmy problem from the other thread was gunk in the fuel pump and line, but now my fuel pump isnt coming on with the ignition...

so i test the wires to see if theres a signal first right?.... then no signal its the relay... i can go hunt around scrap site for one... is it the circle topped one or the brown square one?

If there's current its the pump right? i think i've got a bwm one on there 2.0ltr if i remember correctly.. which one off here would it be? http://www.gsfcarparts.com/

Thanks for your help in advance!

its the round metal one i had problems with mine so i cut it off and replaced it with a standard auto relay in a new holder so a lot cheaper to replace in the futer!!!

relays

Sounds like your relay is breaking down under load due to burnt contacts or weak coil. They will work on a meter but not under load.
I have experienced this many times at work on various vehicles and circuits. Bin the relays and fit new Bosch ones.
