Toilet
I've been giving toilets when camping some thought recently. Specifically regarding portable pottis and whether or not to get/use one in our van. I quite liked the idea of the convenience (no pun intended) of having a wee loo in the van, but my better half really didn't want to have a potentially smelly plastic box full of chemicals swilling around, she also objects to it taking up so much space.
We were at 'The Big Tent' festival in Falkland (up in Fife) yesterday and we saw what looks like the perfect solution. Has anyone seen or heard of a 'Biotoi'? Here is a link to their website.

Simply a case of tying up the bag after use and disposing of it in a bin (dog poo bin?) or burying it as it is totally compostable.
I was just wondering if anyone else has seen or used one of these. I'd be interested to hear what they think.
Cheers,
Donald.
PS - The Big Tent Fest was great fun. A super performance by the Peatbog Faeries. Lots of campervans there, but didn't spot any 80-90 ers.

If it starts smelling you done it wrong!!! Plus the chemicals arent that bad and if the loo's are made to keep everything in them not splash about!
I have a large ish potra loo in mine and you get used to the space it takes up, mines in a home made box so you can use it as a extra seat!!

Too True! Our porta pottie really worked for a living when we got stuck in a three hour motorway jam. We were just about to break down and share our good fortune with two aged and very distressed ladies in Ka when as if by an act of reward from a higher being, the jam miraculously cleared.metalmick8y wrote:Whats right with it?wackos00 wrote:if you wild camp, then whats wrong with a trowel?
Each to there own but I dont much go for treking out in the night/rain/winter or any other time to dig a hole to squat down in, NO NO NO ,
