In the process of fitting pwer steering to me Quick Brick. Going well but have fallen at the last hurdle.
Racks all in and functioning, pumps in, hoses in. But I need to remove the Single V Belt Pulley and swap it for the Triple V Belt Puley. Cant !
I am unable to turn the retaining bolt without the pulley rotating. I have tried putting the van in gear (1st) but the pulley rotates slighting stopping me getting any solid leverage. What other options do i have to lock the engine in place. And how wuld I do it.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

pulley removal
i did this last year
i think i either wedged a large screwdriver in fly wheel inspection hole or through the pulley itself

... and you'd want 4th gear not 1st, so that you're less likely to lever the van up the road - I'm sure if you think about you'll see why - the opposite of trying to push the van when in gear?
Locking the flywheel is though the best answer, either remove starter or elsewhere.
