What's the green light for ?

Post by Bramsley »

There's a green light down to the left of the steering wheel, on the dash on my LHD. It never seems to light up. Does anyone know what it's for?

Does it have anything to do with the 'Buzzer' I've read about (but have never heard in my van (yet  )?

Thanks for your help.

It probably comes on if you are towing something and have your trailer lights connected. Do you have a towbar?

Ooh I've got one of them too!! It's down on the right (presumably because mine's a right hand drive) and I haven't yet discovered what it does, although it does light up!

original ones are to the side of the instrument cluster, and have a towball on.They contain no pre wiring though oddly.

The plastic panel in front of the gear stick slides out easily,I'd have a look.

Moonshine - there's no picture or anything. I've got a towbar, but never used it as I don't have a trailer.

Its located halfway between the dashboard and the fuse box cover lower down. On closer inspection I noticed it was sticking out a bit - so I pulled it  . It has a black and a red wire attached to it, but having already overstepped my electrical bravery, I shoved it back in again.

Any more suggestions? Otherwise it'll have to be a doohickey until something goes wrong that'll make it light up.

Thanks,
Sharon
