burner won't burn

Post by Dubwana »

I have a two ring hob beside the sink in my camper. One burns well after you hold the knob in for a while and it gets a bit hot. The other burns for as long as you hold the knob ho but dies as soon as it is let go. Any suggestions? I'd like to fix it as I feel the need for a trip!

The rings are normally fitted with a safety device, (thermocouple?) which turns off the gas supply if the flame is extinguished (by a draft of air for instance).
On lighting, holding the knob in bypasses this safety device until the flame heats it enough to operate. One of yours seems to have failed so if you can find the make of the hob, you may be able to get a replacement device.
