Urgent help with fuel pump required.

I have a 82 Aircooled bus . I've noticed a fuel leak underneath my engine today, whilst working on another engine prob. Tracked it down to the area around the fuel pump (was dripping off the lower torx bolt which connects it to the engine. Immediately consulted the trusty manual and guessed it was probably from one of the hoses,but they are bone dry. I'm guessing its an issue with one of the gaskets either side of the insulating block (if anyone knows otherwise please advise) The issue I have is removal of the pump. Bottom torx bolt is very accessible but the top one is tucked away and I cant see how I can get to it. Haynes manual gives the impression you can remove it with engine in situ but all it says is "undo the two bolts!!!

Any advice on how to get to the top bolt of where the leak might be coming from would be gratefully received as I'm meant to be going to Bug Jam for the first time ever next weekend and dont want to risk an engine fire.

Check its definatly petrol... Most leaks from there are only oil and not too much to worry about unless you want a clean engine and driveway!
Have another look and a sniff but if it is petrol then a pump change may be in order. Havn't ever heard of petrol around those parts but i'm guessing it could leak from the where the top and bottom halves join if you say its not coming from the pipes themselves.

Ok have found out that Aircooled mechanical fuel pumps are obsolete!!!!

Apparantly best bet is to fit an electric one instead. Any ideas on how to do this or where I might find a guide on how to do it. I have 3 days otherwise I'm off to bug jam in a Mitsubishi people carrier which is not something I want to do!!!!!!
