newbie question - spare bulbs

Post by Vanda »

Hi all. sorry if this is a very basic question - I have searched both wiki and previous posts but can't find an answer.

I'm going to Spain for a month in my new (to me, a couple of months now) campervan and needed to get spare bulbs for headlights etc. I bought the kit for a T25 from JK http://shop.justkampers.com/product_inf ... s_id/10065
(mines a 1989 California), assuming that they would be standard. However, I've found info on brickyard
http://www.brick-yard.co.uk/VehicleSpec ... /bulbs.htm
and of course it is not that easy - not standard at all. the kit I've got only seems to have one bulb which corresponds with the part numbers from brickyard.
So my question (finally) is how do I know what size bulbs I need? the manuals I got with the van are all in German. I also bought the Kamper Manual from JK, but it does not have the basics I'd hoped it'd have, so no joy there either.

thanks.

The bulb kit supplied by JK will suit your vehicle provided H4 outer lamps are fitted to your van, the only bulb not included in the kit seems to be the one for the inner front head lamps.

If your van is fitted with H4 head lamps ,this is clearly marked on the lens.

It looks like this kit is only going to be compatible with: outter headlamps/brake/indicator/reverse/fog lights......which leaves the square headlamp inners, front sides and number plate and rear side lamps without spares.

You are going to need a spare 4watt 233 for front side lights and number plate

http://www.busters-accessories.co.uk/pr ... ef=BB12V4W

A spare 55watt Halogen 453 for the inner square headlamps

http://kirkhamcarparts.co.uk/bulbs/bulb453.htm

And a 10watt bayonet for the rear side lamps (if the ones in the kit are only the 5watt versions)

http://kirkhamcarparts.co.uk/bulbs/bulb245.htm

Also: I would get a few spare blade fuses, 7.5/10/15 and 25amp (the common ones are 10 and 15 (red and blue)
