Another syncro big mirror question

Post by T25-GTi »

I've searched for, and read as many other posts i could find relating to syncro and LT mirrors, but i was wondering if anyone has got the measurements for the bars of the original syncro big mirrors?

As i've managed to put my hands on a set of LT35 and LT50 big mirrors and i am trying to decide which ones are the best to modify, or i may possibly just get someone i know to fabricate some bars for me same spec as the original syncros and then use the LT mounts etc.

the LT50 mirrors being considerably larger than the LT35 but look of a much similar shape to the original syncro arms than the LT35 ones, ie. they have the longer horizontal bar at the top of the arms,

Measured from the flattened bit that goes into joint of the top fixing to the joint line in the bottom fixing = 46 cm

Distance of the upright bar bit to screen = 24 cm at bottom, 30 cm at top

Lenght of the vertical bar bit between radii = ca 26 cm

Measured with tape while fitted, so not 100% exact

One I traced was 458mm, so almost same as yours peasant. Ones I measured were not factory fitted, so could have been sprung slightly too.

Cheers lloyd, they are brilliant, :D
i'm going to have some fun when i get home tonight, on the first glance the LT50 mirrors look of a closer size to the syncro mirrors than the LT35, but i will measure them all up tonight when i get home, and let you know my findings.
