Can you get a t25 with power stearing? If so from what year. My Sister in law wants a van but as she will be doing all the driving anything that makes it easier will help. Any thoughts?

It's factory option from 1985 forward. South Africa is a good source for new racks as they kept making the T25 until 2002 in RHD.
I had a few racks mistakenly sent to the US for a pittance. I sold a couple of sets to forum members for $300 - new. The rest went to Ebay and went as high as $760. That's still pretty cheal considering hwo worthless the USD is now. Trouble is you need all the bits to add it on if your T25 did not come with PS. The hoses can be custom made instead of using the steel factory lines. The steering knuckle is slightly different so you can just use your manual knuckles. The steering knuckles for the PS vans are drilled in a different spot resulting in slightly less number of turns from lock-to-lock at the steering column.
On the 1.9 Digijet engines, they have a circuit which raises the RPM to compensate for power requirements of the PS system. You can compensate for this my lightly tapping on the throttle if you feel the motor is about to stall. On the 2.1 Digifant engines, the ECU compensates for the drop in RPM caused by PS system. On the carbureted models, you have no choice but raise the RPM with your foot.
Pump and brackets for WBX engines can be sourced from a donor van. Diesel vans can get brackets from a Golf/Bora/Jetta so equipped. Aircooled vans are pretty much SOL unless you are really handy with a welder.
It seems involved but if you have all the right pieces, it can be a one afternoon project. A shop lift will be of great help to your back.

Check you fluid level. Adjust belt tension if that does work.

Better get some weights and put on some muscle!
I posted here for $300 though. No takers even at that so I sold them to some Kiwi's and Aussies. In the US a ne PS rack will set you back over $1700 outright/no core charge. I had one guy quote NZ$4300 back then. It was not much better in Oz.
I should have bought all those extra RHD racks the local importer in the US bought my mistake.
