Morning campers,
So it seems the rear catch on the sliding door requires replacing as the door keep failing to close/popping open.
Any ideas where i can pick a replacement up from.
Also the horn on my mark1 GTi wheel is no longer working. Wonder if there is any other places to check the connections other than the contacts under the cap. Failing that is a dash mounted button ok?

re the horn!
firstly check the brown wire at the very bottom of the steering colom, then the ring on the underside of the wheel, and if both these are good, and when you push the button(s) there is a -12vdc signal check there is a +12vdc going to the horn itself......
my money is on the connections at the horn corroded, or the horn ring on the steering wheel is either crudded up, worn out or not contacting with the static contact........

I had this, turned out that the bolt on top runner was loose & door needed to sit further in. Also door can be lifted slightly with the bottom 3 bolts.
May help.
Yeah already adjusted the door, i think the fact that is was poorly aligned in the first place has caused the catch to wear a lot. The mechanism no longer holds the door in as the internal catch is no longer hooked enough, if you can follow that.

Thanks for that!
Will have a look.
