New(very cheap) Flooring

Post by mikey9 »

We got fed up with the carpeted flooring through the living areas on our Autosleeper - it was engrained with the sand and worse from 18 years of holidays - when we pulled it up I would have hated to see what we could have grown in the sand and dirt.

Anyway - we went for ripping it up in the back of the van and replacing with end of line self adhesive vinyl tiles from B&Q - £2.47 for a pack of 5 - we used 2 and a bit packs - total cost < £6!!

Then onto the walk through bit (only try taking the Autosleeper glued down carpet off your rubber mat if you have LOTS of time and patience)

And a pair of megavanmats for the front (£17 plus postage)

Looks a hellofalot betterer than the original - and the wipe cleanness in the back proved itself on holiday with general food/potty spillage (you'll know what I mean if you have a two year old) , oil, mud, sand, milk, juice, wine, beer etc.
Wipes off, clean and fresh as - in seconds - could never do that with the old skanky carpet...... :x smells a lot better too.
