My Doooom buzzer experience.

Post by SANDMAN »

Yes this Klaxon caused me many a thrombi-the main problem was it was an intermittent fault of the very worst kind , you think you fix it then Doom!!! other strange things used to happen too , the wipers would fire up, tacho would drop off , heaters would turn on or off some times all @ once ,other times just the doom buzzer on its own drove me crazy- on one occasion whilst stuck in traffic my twin air horns decided to fire up and the geezer in front ( a Mike Tyson look alike ) got out and wanted to smash my swede in- the dam doom buzzer was also in full song @ this point also  The joys of owning a VW , i did though eventually find the fault- the printed circuit board behind the instrument panel had a very fine crack across one of the links - a fine line of solder and my Doom buzzer was put to rest , for the time being any way. FOR GOOD I HOPE.
The fine line of solder fixed all the other faults too 12v electics are a stange thing.
Steve.
