First time on forum so apologies if not following standard route.
I've got problems with my 2.1 DJ injection system. Van passed MOT and then literally 20 foot out of MOT station it died. As soon as you start cranking its flooding, and not a little bit. I've got a Vanagon manual on CD and I've worked through everything except the hall effect sensor (next on the list but its raining now) and all resistances -coolant temp-decel/idle/fullthrottle switch-injectors-intake air sensor-ground-all ok.
I've had the top off the flap valve and it all looks ok.
I confess that on Saturday I did some welding prior to the MOT and forgot to disconnect battery earth, but it started on Sunday, drove to MOT station and passed MOT.
First problems I've had with the injection.
Can anybody advise?

Could be the fuel pressure regulator, it maintains the fuel pressure at 30psi. It is connected to the vacuum by the distributor. I think you need a gauge to test it. If the pressure is high, you will flood. Are your injectors closing properly. Test by removing whilst connected, switch ignition on and look for drips, leaks.
When you say flooding, how bad, is she running, but rich?? If it is running then I would suspect the ecu temp sensor. If you short out the contacts in the plug the engine will assume it is hot, and not enrichen the mixture at all. If it has fallen off, the ecu will think you are at -40deg c. !!
Most likley something disconnected if happened suddenly, and can be fixed equally simply.

When I say flooding I mean FLOODING! It won't even start, turn it over three or four times and the plugs are saturated.
The temp sensors check put ok for resistance but I'll try shorting out and see what effect it has.
The injectors don't weep when turn ignition (and so injection pump on) but been testing the hall effect sensor and have found that they pulse on as turn ignition on, get a two-three second spray, loads of fuel, and then it stops (all injectors).
trying to check the Hall effect sensor but two different types and two different ways to test them-does anybody know how to tell a Fairchild Hall control unit from an AEG?

Take the white wires off the nearside head and clean them up, as well as cleaning the head itself. Use a new blot to attach them and try it.
I have had that happen a number of times and in one case, it was necessary to strip the wires back and fit a new connector because the wires were perished.
