cooling system
can anyone tell me why my red light is flashing on and off all the time on my temp gauge as soon as i start it.

because it does a self check. Should flash for a few seconds then go away.
If it continues flashing, it thinks there is no water in the system....either the header tank is low, or the switch is faulty, or there is corrosiion around the sensor which is "shorting" the switch and sending a low level signal to the dash
