Radio memory problem

Post by Donald360 »

My radio has the main power and the memory terminal wired to the same permanently live wire. But everytime it is switched off it loses all its memory settings. I was told that the main power should be from a separate switched source from the ignition, but i would prefer the option of playing it when parked up without having to switch the ignion on. Any ideas?

The van is a 1985 T25 with old diy wiring chaos!

Thanks,
Donald.

Thats the problem... You havn't got it wired to a permanent live. Its wired to the ignition so every time you switch off the ignition it cuts the power to the stereo and the memorw setting are lost. Keep the memory and power wires connected but instead connect them to a permanent live, either direct from battery + terminal or from the fuse box.

Sorted! I just need to sort out the rest of the 'spagetti' now.
