anyone got any ideas why my accelerator maybe sticking and causing the revs to scccrrrreeeeeeeemmmmmm?

alomost burnt my clutch out today in traffic with this problem.
please help

damaged cable, return spring weak/broke..

where would i find the return spring? what does it look like also?

What engine?????

springs are on the main throttle spindle on the carb or throttle body on injected watercooled petrols, D/TD not sure...

I had a recent over-revving problem and it turned out to be the plastic cover of the cable had worn from rubbing underneath the van and was sticking. I stuck a bit of split fabric hose onto the underneath and ran the cable through that. Problem solved.
