Eberspacher - Have you seen one of these before?

Post by totallyconfused »

Hi - following on from my recent help, I have yet another question....

I have an eber heater on my van (1981 - petrol/T25). I have looked at the eber entries (wiki) but only found instructions/advice for a comparatively small heaters. Mine is massive! (ooh ahh missus!!!).

I do not know the model - I have looked but can not see a number. I took some photos but do not have access to a server so cant show you!

The heater has two pipes going into it - runs the length of the middle section of the van and has a exhast pipe that comes down and has a funny sort of guard on the end. Heater is covered in metal finish box, bit like a fuel tank. It has a connector with four or five wires attached. Has a pump going to it.

In the cab there is a green knob with + and - on it. There is also a wierd box with a little red lever in the corner. Four cables coming off the top and four coloured boxes saying ON, ON, A, A. Seems like some sort of control - but not really sure what it does, especially the little red lever (thats too lazy to crow - ha ha!).

Anyhow - cant get it to work by turning green knob. Could anyone shed some light on the model and also how I should go about getting it to work? Where should the model number be?

Many thanks - Christian. (sorry - it turned into a bit of an essay)

Hi - thanks for taking a look - Unfortunately, I can not see how to get photo's on here as have no server to link to them.

if you let me know your e-mail could send one to you, but would be much better to be able to put the pics on the forum.

Ebespacher BA6 - thats the chap....

Post by totallyconfused »

Hi - If anyone is interested...

I have now found out that it is a BA6 Ebespacher. The Diesel equivalent is a DA6.

However - manuals seem very hard to get hold of. There is an online copy but quality is very bad/hard to read.

http://www.type2.com/bartnik/ba6art.htm

If anyone knows where I can get hold of one please let me know. I have been told that the Bentley's manual has a section on it. Anyone got a copy of this section please let me know.

Still not sure what funny little box is??? Aparantely - there are a lot of different set up/controls. Thats why you need the manual!!

Cheers - Christian.
