Guttering

Post by Tug »

Hi Folks,

Have had my 1981 Holdsworth Villa 2.0 Aircooled for nearly 2 years now and it has been a great van. Never owned an Aircooled VW before and i think it is great.

I need some advice on how to repair the guttering on my van as it is starting to go crusty and will flex if i mess with it. Is it a straightforward enough task or is it a pain in the rectum.
I have my own Mig welder and tools and have done extensive repairs on the Dub and many other vehicles over the past 15 years or so...So hopefully i can tackle this one without much expense.
It is a shame as this is the only thing that lets the bus down...
Can i purchase the guttering or do I have to use Type 2 Guttering and modify it too fit....?

Shape of gutter changes so be careful.
Early vans like yours have a larger gutter, later ones have a shorter gutter and a plastic trim to fit over it.
I am unaware of anyone who sells gutter repair panels.
