Windscreen panel change

Post by TOMMY THE CAT »

Been looking at the forum but cant see a post. Got rust on the windscreen panel behind the seal and bubbled lower towards the wipers.
Was gonna buy the patch bits that go under the windscreen seal but was wondering how hard the panel is to change that goes down to the grill?
My welding skills are pretty good need to sort the blower out so thought it might be worth having a look at as well.

go the said panel for our van, looks to me that the panel will spot/plug weld under the seal the two seams should bond and more spots/plugs along the edge under the grill.

the panel is quite dear as i recall although ours came with the van

Replacing the panel is quicker than doing the repair sections. Buy from VW for a good fit £55
