Sticky starter?

Post by liliball »

Has anyone come across this one. Sometimes when I turn the key to start, I get all the lights as usual but just a click, nothing from the starter. Always starts at second attempt but I know that one of these days it won't. I'm thinking sticky starter or a start relay issue. Any pointers before I get the tools out. Cheers.

mine did this and still does "slow down" during the starting procedure. it is as if you need to half start it to get it into firing position and then turn to start it.

check wiring on starter, check starter itself and change bush.

if you disconnect the coil, and hold the key in start does it eventually start turning the engine?
