A right challange for all you ebber/webasto GURUS!!!
get this, in my syncro i have an ebber timer. in the rear of the doka i have one of them webasto heaters. the heater heats up the coolant so it is ready warmed for starting on really cold days (its a swedish import).
the ebber timer has never been connected to the heater. the ebber timer has 5 wires one red, one black, one brown, one white, and one yellow.
first question what do these wires do please?
the wires from the webasto are one red, one brown, one black and a yellow stripey earth one.
second question what do these do?
third question how do i connect them up?
fourth question in the rear of the doka i have a small separate heater matrix under the bench seat with a separate fan control on the dash. does this mean when the heater is running and the engine coolant is hot would this serve as an overnight heater?
this will be a tester i know but am looking forward to sorting it, oh and its a petrol
final question it also has a plug on the rear so you can plug it into the house, is this related to anything?

If u can figure it out Jed let me know as I want my webasto fixed too! Mines a wee diesel engine (nearly new too!) behind the rear light, took me a while to find but the electronic thermostat and timer (which are ancient!) have packed up! So if you find someone local that can fix it tell me!!

Thats PEET as in FEET!!!

Try this:

Download the 7 day timer instructions, the wire colours you quoted seem to correspond. I've fitted one of these timers to a D1Lc heater in my first van, seem to remember it being relatively straight forward once you have the heater and timer wiring diagrams together.

The rear heater (mounted centrally under the Doka rear seat) is a standard heater matrix, same part as a VW Polo I believe. Its the same arrangement used on well specced Caravelle's.
It is set from the dash and usually controlled by an auxiliary fan switch, right next to the standard heater controls and a 4th lever often found in the main slider array.
It will only be warm/hot while the engine coolant is but the blower side can be used with the ignition on should you want to use it following a warmup engine run, just like the front one.

the plug at the back will supply a 'motorvarmare'. I think it's some kind of electric element and pump system that prevents the coolant from freezing. It also means when you start up in the morning you get warm air straight away. Sometimes there's also a socket inside the van/car. This is a 240v connection which can be used for a 'kupevarmare' or cabin heater.
The webasto in my van was fitted by Scot of Haddington (01620 826344) back in 2004. Also link to webasto is www.webasto.de. Hope this helps
