roof dilemma

Hi

i have the original elevating roof on my 81 camper, except that its seen better days and needs replacing. I dont like hightops and keep my eye out for a cheap pop top but not too easy to come by.
We wouldnt use the roof for sleeping as no young children, and I have considered whether it would be possible to revert to tin top and maybe install a sun roof.
Does anyone know of a solution at a reasonable price?
Have recently fitted rebuilt engine so funds not exactly limitless!

my camper had a full length pop top but badly cracked one end previous owner shortened it by a third cutting out damaged section and rejoining the end. works well also from sunny somerset
