hi
mph speedo is the way too go.
easy to change and mph speedos have km on them as well!
this would mean the job is done properly at the start.
easy to adjust the mileage to original also to keep things in line!

Long term - will go for mph speedo
Short term - as the van is been inspected mon am - I hav nt got time to find one
Would it pass with tastefully done diy stickers? I suppose it depends on how much of a jobsworth the inspecter is. I think its is going to be a female inspecter - maybe I should send her a bunch of flowers!

I would have thought if a sticker was clearly printed and suitably attached so it wasn't loose, and clearly stating it reads in MPH, they wouldn't be able to fail it. I wounder if they'd bother to even check its calabration? (if they did it'd be the first time since manufacture anyone went to the effort - strange as you need a speedo for the MOT but no one checks it actully works). As the clocks are eluminated from the front not the back a sticker wouldn't affect that. Probubly worth including a Km/h scale aswell though as for some resion on ofical things like driving tests your speedo needs to have km/h on aswell as MPH - don't know why but thats how it is, probubly an EU rule creaping in somewhere, maybe its also true for imports.
The odometer/trip can stay in km.

My mate inports vespa scooters from spain and has just had the same for the speedos being in KPH. First time they have insisted on MPH and he has being inporting for a couple of years now. I think anything after 1984 needs to be in MPH.
I'm sure someone on here posted a scanned speedo face so you could print it off. Think it was a white speedo face...

I m taking it in monday morning - so will let you know
I asked what the problem was - the guy on the phone said it maybe that I filled in the milage in miles on one form and in KM on another - which caused a discrepancy that they have to check.
I have downloaded a MPH speedo dial and put it in tomoz.
Does anybody know how to get the perspex covers of the facia. Its prob obvious when you try but i though i d ask beforehand
rugchecker - I just typed in speedo to the search engine and trawled through a few results - I found a couple - I dont know hoe to upload them onto the forum but if you want i ll email them to you.

Took the van in today and it passed - I put the scanned MPH clock face in - it worked a treat. I asked if it would have been ok if i 'd just stuck some MPH stickers on the original one and the inspecter said they would need to see proper markings - I didnt tell her that the speedo now indicates the right speed in niether MPH OR kMH as the scales dont match now. She also had to check to see that it was a campervan - which in their book equates to a table and bed.
Its red tape gone mad!

Hi
I found on flea bay a guy ( goldburg21) who sells instrument facia dials with ones for each type of T25, I have ordered a set so will let you know what they are like and how accurate they are
Have a look and see what you think, for a tenner + postage not too much of a risk
