Have just bought a 86 Joker - the fridge is nt connected to the gas and it doesnt seem to be working on 12v or 240v. I left it hooked up to the mains for about 4 hours and there was no temp change (is that long enough for it to make a difference?) Also how long do i need to drive about for for the 12v to start to cool the fridgeI have removed the fridge but dont know what to check. I m guessing (wildly) that if two of the 3 ways dont work, and the 3rd possibly doesnt, the problem is in the cooling system rather than supply.
Apart from the obvious how can you tell if the fridge is working or not?
Any help appreciated - especially in this weather!
Does anybody know a 3 way repair man in the manchester area?
Thanks in anticipation...

Friggin Fridge
While youv'e got the fridge out of the van, turn it upside down & leave it for about 24 hours & then refit it & try it again. The fridge is silent in operation so you won't hear anything.
What make of fridge is it? Is it German or one of the Electrolux/Dometic ones? When using a fridge on 12v most peeps place ice packs/bottles of frozen water in it to help get the temperature down. Also remember that the van must be on level ground within the tolerances 'plus/minus 3 degrees'.

Will try the upside down trick
Its an electrolux fridge. The socket which it plugs into (under the sink) works as does the other 240 socket in the van so I dont think its a van electrical problem.
Theres no underslug gas tank - I am trying to source a metric gas fitting (they seem to use alu fittings rather than brass in Germ and the thread is a different size- then i will connect by putting in a branch from the hob gas feed (from a bottle)
Thanks
