weirdest fix of the day

Post by ambivert »

OK - so its not quite as good as Penelope Pitstop using her bubblegum and hair pin - but...

it has always been difficult, but become today it became impossible, to lock the sliding door, using the key or the little black button on the inside.

On removing the door trim, I discovered that the cable (which connects the door handle to the rear latch) had become too long for its adjustment bolt to take up all the slack. This was preventing it locking.

Fixed it with the adjustment bolt from the brake lever of a mountain bike!
It was exactly the right size and everything :D
