Sticky Throttle

Hello all, i have a 1990 2.1 automatic caravelle which has had a new accelerator peddle fitted about 2 months ago however every now and again my throttle sticks and it revs its backside off, any tips or ideas on how to sort this greatly appreciated, many thanks

probably the cable sticking somewhere, usually cos guide tube has fractured, need to check it along it's length.
also check front pivot is lubed.

Clean and lubricate the part of the gearbox where the cable attaches, and where the rod goes out to the engine

On mine I found the problem was the linkage at the carburettor end.
A good squirt of WD40 solved the problem. Problem re-occurs every couple of years.
