ARRRGGH insurance!

Post by DannyLY »

Hiya, im new to the whole T25 world, am just in the process of buying 1 at the mo.
Trouble is insurace- Im only 21 with no no claims and the cheapest I've found is £577 with direct line...
Anybody got any ideas about anywhere better? I tried Adrian Flux and they wanted an extortional £1045!

That all being said, im pretty excited...
Thanks!

Hi DannyLY

I have found Equity Redstar the cheapest , well for my age 47.
came to touch under £100, with partner also.

and I think it depends how you use it .

Are you using your van for going to/from work ?
or is it being used for leasure only? etc.

Generally you're better off with one of Classic car specialist insurers, although I've always found Adrian Flux very expensive

Just Kampers claim to offer one of the most competitive deals around

Hi i was in a bit of a similar situation a couple of months ago when we bought our first van. ended up spending half a day on the phone, due to only been 22 and having an imported van thats been modified and had an engine conversion.

A lot of specialiost insurance companys didn't want to insure anyone under 25, so ended up on the phone to adrian flux three times who eventually sorted insurance out for both me and my wife whos is only 21. for £350 which i thought was really good.

The first quote flux had given us on the internet was for over £1000, so might be worth giving them a ring and speaking to someone certainly worked for us

Also worth ringing CIS - they usually give good quotes for younger drivers.

try going through Martin Lewis' guide for vans and for cars.

these are absolutely brilliant (especially the cashback trick) but unfortunately may not suit T3 owners whose vans aren't always bog standard affairs.

other than that, just go through everyone who's got an ad in Volks World or Camper & Commercial.

I got mine through Herts, BTW.
