Hey all, had to fit a recon swingarm for the mot on the van, and as usual the body mounting bolts are siezed onto the metal inserts in the rubber mounts. Will be cutting it out later today but i'll need new bolts,
question: will any 19mm part threaded bolt and nut do or are they high tensile special ones that need to be ordered?
Rear swingarm 19mm mounting bolts, replacments?

fergus77,
I am not going to stick my neck out 'cause I don't know.
but the online vagcat lists these for both 1980 and 1990 T25 (or T3)
hexagonal head bolt
M12X1,5X105 /
481501543
and
hexagonal nut
M12X1,5 /
251501577
The markings on the head of the bolt (if visible) should identify it, and will mean something to an experienced nuts and bolts anorak, or.......
THIS LINK
which I found with a 'Google' should help.

thanks for that Grun,
I'll have to wait before getting nuts etc as i can't get the fecking thing out
Engine rebuild, no problem. new plastic water pipes, no worries. Fecking swing arm change, no chance!!!
This has to be the worst job to do on a van, specially if your wokring on a granit gravel drive....
Cheers again for the info, as soon as its out, new bolts will be a coming

People refer to the head size instead of the thread
.... M12 bolts have a 19mm head
M6 = 10mm spanner
M8 = 13mm spanner
M10 = 17mm spanner
M12 = 19mm spanner
M16 = 22mm spanner
some 'special' VW bolts have a strange size thread e.g. the early clutch cover bolts were M7
others have a strange head in relation to their thread ... engine mounting bar to engine for e.g. M10 bolts with a 15mm head
'They' also throw in fine pitch threads as well ... just to make life interesting like the M10 x 1.00mm on the top of the front shockers.
Hope this helps.
Ian.

As Andy say's ... I'd use at least a High Tensile 8.8 bolts. (technically if it's 'shouldered' then it should be HT anyway. Some of the latest crap bolts though make me wonder) Everything I buy is HT Metric and most stainless for the 'food grade' areas of the plant.
