Digital Clock not working
The digital clock on my LLE isn't working. I've removed it and checked that it works fine with a direct 12v supply, so I guess the flexible circuit membrane has cracked somewhere - the light to illuminate the clock doesn't work either.
Is it possible to repair this membrane? If not, is there a source of replacements?

TimC,
Hi there,
Haynes says Fuse 3 (1986 on) does the digital clock, and the (door operated?) interior lights, radio, and cigarette lighter.
If the fault is on the flexy circuit, a break can be bridged by a fine piece of wire soldered in place, and......... I think it was Irish.David,.......... mentioned a repair he could do and not to throw old flexy circuits away. (May have been Irishkeet)

Re: Digital Clock not working
TimC,
My diagram shows the feed to the digital clock is track 5 at the 14 pin plug where the flexy joins the loom.
The earth is track 3 but this is also used by the rest of the instruments.
If my flexy is anything to go by, there were several breaks at the point where it joins the loom connector, all repaired now by the bridging method.

i have repaired several, with a very fine 10w soldering iron, and a heatsink beneath, its tricky, but doable....... however, its easier if you dont have these options, to bridge straight from the multiplug to the clock , missing out the pcb.....you cant do this with anything but the clock and lights tho, you'll be missing the voltage regulator out.

It wouldn't be a pretty one
but I do have a little digital camera, and as long as no wiggling of the connector is involved, (everything is working.... would you believe?) might have a looksee..... No promises mind.
As one of my old Aussie pilots used to say as he climbed out of his helicopter, having survived yet another flight.........
Don't touch a thing.... its running like a charm.

any chance of a picture?

The digital clock on my dash also doesn't work. Think I'll buy one of these that has a back-light or something similar to stick on the dash. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Mini-digital-LCD- ... dZViewItem
