rear tailgate badge removal

any tips on removing the rear tailgate badges without damage please? mines an '88 and seems to be stuck on with that spongy sticky stuff. (where do you get that from by the way?) thanks

apply light heat with a hairdryer, and help with a blunt flat blade....evenly

any good motor parts store will sell the pads to reapply......so NOT halfords!:)
