This is my first time posting on this forum.
I need to fit an engine and gearbox in my T25
I am trying to get my head around bellhousing issues.
1/ Diesel bellhousing,
Do you use this when you fit Golf type petrol engines in order to get the engine to lean over.(or is there another reason for the use of)
2/How hard is it to wire a VW ECU to work properly.

Diesel Bellhousing has holes in all the right places for Golf engine to T25 gearbox. yes it makes the engine lean over too.
Have a look in the wiki as to what else you need, i.e diesel starter motor.
Do some research first as I believe you can use a different inlet manifold to avoid having to modify the chassis.
ECU is straight forward to fit from a mk2 (I'm assuming you mean a digifant one) you need the loom from the donor car and I recommend stripping back the loom outer cover so that you can find the dummy wires that don't connect to anything, they're obvious once you get the sheath off.
not a 100% certain but i think mk3 is a bit more difficult as it has an immobiliser in it. This can be bypassed but I've personally never done it.

Not sure which is the good one but if nothing else, don't wait till the engine is fully in and bolted up to establish manifold branches bang against the inside of n/s rear chassis or flitch plate when engine rocks a bit... manifold is quite a thick casting so any casting flashes and some thickness can be filed/ground off, think its No. 2 or No.3 pipes from front. And chassis can be gas heated and 'slightly persuaded' into a new contour
