Post by blancowesty »

I have a Blaugpunt readio model Montreax RCR44.

I know the security code but do not know the procedure or sequence to enter the code.

Can any one help me.

I'm guessing it just has a code and not some sort of keycard thing? (if it has a keycard the code is used to program a new card so you need a keycard aswell to unlock it).

Usally if you switch it on, and the code is activated (you can disable the code feature so it doesn't need it) CODE will be desplayed, you need to get it so you can enter the code. Try pressing "1" and 4 digits should apear, if this doesn't work you might need to experiment pressing every button or combinations of buttons till 4 digits apear (if the 4 digits aren't there it shouldn't clock up wrong code strikes, only OKing the code when the wrong one is desplayed does that). Use presets 1-4 to change the respective digits to the code, and press a non number button to OK it, "up" or the buttons you used to get to the code entering stage are likely options.

If you get the code wrong leave the radio on for an hour and by then it should let you have another go, maybe sooner.

To disable the code feature, try holding down 1 and 4 as you turn the radio on (or whatever buttons are used to get into code entering mode, but hold them down as you turn the radio on), once you've entered the code it should never ask for it again even if unplugged - could make life easyer though if you know the code it wouldn't make much difference. I think its been a long time since car theves were put off by the thought steeling a coded radio so its usally only the owner that really gets stumped by them.

Sorry if that sounds a bit vague but its based on my past expereances with Blaupunkts and they differ slightly, don't know exactly what yours is but they all behave simularly.

lookee what you can find on the net....

googled your model number and found this site

http://www.car-audio-accessories.co.uk/ ... upunkt.htm with free decoding instructions.....

is this any help?

if not, bung the model and decode how into google...or something like that, and start trawling. Had to do it with the radio in hubby's car some time back.
